don't stop loving til you get enough

The Documented Life Project (DLP) continues.....
The February theme : Layers You Will Love!

For February 7 the Art Challenge was:  When Not To Stop
with the Journal Prompt:  "Don't Stop Til You Get Enough!"
I came up with this, playing with writing first - February for me is always love and hearts month, so I started also stenciling hearts on the gesso-ed writing and I did some script transfer areas as well. Played with some inks and then I pulled her face out of the background. "don't stop Loving til you get enough"

what lies beneath

the 5th, from the 31st January prompt at Art to the 5th's Documented Life Project 2015

January 31 - Art Challenge: Under Paper - Journal Prompt: "What Lies Beneath?"

I started writing again, what for me lies beneath, the meaning, the feeling, the inspiration etc. then I used gesso and inks, swirls and drips, didn't really know where I was going with it. Grabbed some "underpapers" {I actually have a "side" sketchbook where I slap leftover paints in etc.} ripped some shapes and strips. Saw one that looked like a house entrance to me {I am still preoccupied with houses} and then the beneath bits just happened. I honestly do not always know where I am going or what I am doing when I let myself just go in journals. So this is what came out of that. Layers underneath a house with strong roots of trees {another one of my loves} and water seems important. Never planned this, but okay, this is what I got out of this prompt then.

Piwakawaka

my Piwakawaka detail of larger painting
my Piwakawaka - detail of larger painting 2015

The Piwakawaka or New Zealand Fantail is a cute little bird that we very regularly see in our garden and we always see while walking through the New Zealand bush. Today I added a little Piwakawaka to my commissioned painting, but I have done this curious bird before:
